When we receive Christ as Lord and Savior, we are adopted into the family of Abraham. This is one of the most important aspects of our salvation, but it is rarely taught. If only God’s people understood the power of the Blood Covenant relationship that God chose to bind us to Himself!

The Jewish believers in the years immediately following the resurrection and ascension of Christ had a belief that the gospel was meant only for the children of Abraham. While it is true that the early ministry of Christ was restricted to Israel and the Jewish people, Christ revealed that His gospel was now available to the whole world.

God honors the faith of our ancestors by showing mercy to those of us who deserve nothing. People of the covenant bring blessing, but not only upon themselves but on their children as well.

During His earthly ministry, Christ was determined to restore privileges of the Abrahamic covenant to the people of Israel. The blessings of the covenant did not come to the people without a flight. One of the most outstanding examples of the restoration of covenant rights is found in Luke 13.
